We went to France today, shopping. We were at a fairly normal shopping center, doing some fairly normal shopping. I took my son to go to the bathroom like normal. Well, I don’t know if there is anything normal about going to a public bathroom with my 4-year-old. He is all about it until he sees the toilet, then he suddenly doesn’t need to go anymore. Crazy, isn’t it? But anyway, I took my son to a normal public bathroom. Everyting happened normally, like it should. Then it happened. One of the oddest things I have ever seen.
A French guy washed his feet in the sink.
In case you didn’t catch that, I will tell you again. A French guy washed his feet in the sink! In a sink in a public bathroom. Right there in public! Who washes their feet in a public bathroom? Well, obviously this guy. But, for real. What would have to happen that you need to wash your feet so urgently? Was he trying to impress a woman in the shoe store? Appointment with the Podiatrist? Date with a foot fetishist?
I don’t know, and can’t fathom, what possesed this guy to wash his feet in the sink. I do know that I already thought French guys were a little weird. Not weird bad necessarily, just way different than American guys weird. I also know that this guy is now the absolutely weirdest French guy I have ever ran into.
